It is strongly recommended you use your Therapeutic Ultrasound unit and/or Radiant Heat 2 - 4 times each day as outlined in the reference guide for your condition. Because the typical course of treatment through a therapist clinic is usually only 2 or 3 times per week people often question this frequency of treatment. The reality is that when you go elsewhere for PT you are being limited by the cost and convenience of going for treatments. You actually benefit significantly from much more frequent treatments. Use it frequently when treating the injury. You can taper off to occassional use once the injury is largely healed and you want to be preventative against re-injury.

Operation is simple. For our ultrasound kits, plug in the device, apply the specially formulated Ultrasound Gel, press the button and that's it. The device will automatically shut off after about 10 minutes.

Radiant Energy systems are just as easy to use. Strap the unit over the injured area and plug the unit in. You can set the control to high for a couple of minutes to warm the system up, but then reduce it to low again to get the deepest penetration from the energy waves.

For best results with ultrasound you should work on small areas, say 2 - 3 inches across. Keep the head moving slowly in small circles over the area. Also make sure you use enough gel so that the area is not dry or tacky. Without the gel, the ultrasound waves won't penetrate your skin and the pain relieving ingredients won't get to the affected area. If you have very large or multiple areas that you want to treat, work on one area for the prescribed time and then do another. Don't try to do it all at once for twice as long as this will not be effective.
